I took the kids on a Halloween cruise along the Provo River. I love anything to do with Halloween, so I was really excited when I found discounted tickets for this event. However, it was a bit of a disappointment. The cruise was really short and needed more decorations. Its a super fun idea, but it just wasn't as exciting as I was hoping it would be. It was fun seeing the lights and the jack-o-lanterns reflected in the water, and our pirate tour guide was entertaining, but that was about it. The ride was too scary for Blake, just right for Chase, and a little too cheesy for Wesley and Erin.
Another fun activity I love to attend each year is Thanksgiving point's scarecrow festival. Last year I went twice - once with Addie and Blake during the day, and another time with the rest of my family. I seriously love these gardens.
Cornbellies is something my boys look forward to all year. Blake asks about it constantly, and is always disappointed when we drive by it's empty field during the off season. Normally we go as a family, but last year Jason was traveling so much I ended up taking the boys during fall break...along with half the state of Utah. It was busy and unusually hot, but we had a very enjoyable day. After spending a few hours there, the crowds started getting to me, and we had to leave. Once in a while I get really bad headaches and almost panic when I'm in large hot crowds with the boys by myself. Luckily we had lots of fun before my anxiety set in!

Second trip to the Scarecrow festival
Chase's scout troop toured a fire department last fall. These scouts are a crazy ball of energy. Poor little calm Chase often gets lost in this hyper crowd. Blake, on the other hand, thinks he's a scout, and fits right in!
Blake and Addie had the privilege of accompanying our neighbor Alex to his middle school. He had an assignment in his family development class and he needed to bring a preschooler, so he asked if he could bring Blake. The middle school kids were so cute with all these little preschoolers...I couldn't tell who was having more fun...the big kids or the little kids?!
More Thanksgiving Point fun
I go on a lot of adventures with Blake while the older boys are in school. I often feel bad that they miss out on our fun outings, so I try to take them places after school when I have the chance. I took the older boys to Gardner Village again because they missed out the first time we went. However, the first time we went was at the end of September when it was very quiet. This second time was close to Halloween, so it was packed. I *almost* want to homeschool my kids just so I can take them all on fun adventures during the day when places are not as busy!

Just pull them out of school for half days every once in a while to do fun things. Thats what we do.
