Autumn is my favorite time of the year....well...and Spring.... and Summer (in Utah). I just love, love, LOVE the seasons up here! Autumn is always a busy time of the year. School has started up, so all our usual activities are in full swing. We also keep busy by enjoying drives up the canyon, and hikes though the changing forests. Autumn is a time when the air gets cooler, the world changes colors, and families come together. I'm so glad I live on a planet that has such beautiful seasons!
The boy's new Charter School has a yearly harvest festival. This year's theme was Harry Potter. It was really cute and a fun event to attend.

The boy's school had an 'eat and read' event where the parents were invited to eat with their student, and then shop at the book fair. I was amazed by the quality of the school lunch. The school has a huge salad bar full of a wide assortment of fresh fruits and veggies (I should have loaded up), and I picked an asian chicken for my main entree. It was GOOD!

Cute Chase all ready for school in his new (and clean) uniform
Utah has a crazy number of haunted houses, pumpkin patches, and fall festivals. Its almost overwhelming trying to pick which ones to go to. We took the boys to a local neighborhood patch on a whim. There was a fun dance party that Wesley really enjoyed, and a corn maze. We ventured over to the "scary" part of the maze and a guy with a chainsaw scared my two little ones into tears. Hopefully it didn't traumatize them too much! Wesley, on the other hand, loves to be scared and had an absolute blast.
Chase's hair sticks up into a natural mohawk. His two opposing cowlicks make it really hard to style his hair in any way other than straight up. One day I used a ridiculous amount of gel and managed to get his hair to lay flat for a few hours. I of course had to take lots of pictures! :-)
Beautiful fall hike with friends - the best part is that this hike is only 10 minutes from my house!
This is the front of our house - so many pretty colors to enjoy while the boys play outside. So much happiness in one picture! |
Blake attends a speech class once a week. He recently changed schools, but his old school was nestled against the mountainside. I only had an hour, but it was enough time to hike to a nearby stream and enjoy the peaceful calm of nature. This is my happy place.
Utah has a lot of quiet little parks hidden in various neighborhoods. When the weather is nice, I love watching my kids play.
