Disneyland #5

May 1st - We made a game plan before heading to Disneyland, and I wanted to finish up the rides and attractions that we have still not managed to go on, even after 4 previous visits.  There is so much to do between the two parks; I think it is going to take us months to get everything done!  :-)  Today we also did something that I have never done before, and Jason didn't even know it existed - we walked inside sleeping beauty's castle.  It was really neat, but it was dark and spooky and scared the kids a little. There are a lot of fun animated scenes that play the story of Sleepy Beauty as you walk up and down the stairs inside the castle.  We went on a few rides in Fantasy Land, and then spent the rest of the time in Toon Town.  Wesley wanted to go on "Its a Small World again"  I think that is the only ride we have gone on almost every time because it is one of the boys' favorite.  There are very few rides we have gone on more than once so far.

For a day that wasn't supposed to be busy, there were sill a lot of people!  I think California Adventure is drawing a lot more people to Disneyland, because it is a lot more busy than I remember it being 8 years ago when we had our passes. We are still having a blast, and loving our weekly trips.  Wesley was sooo excited to walk around Mickey and Minnies "REAL" house!  He wanted to meet them, so we waited 20 minutes to see Mickey (at least it was inside in the air-conditioning!!), and 30 to see Minnie (which we had to wait outside in the hot sun).  The boys had a blast, so it was worth it!  :-)

Wesley was so scared of these characters (I don't think he knew who they were).  The mad hatter was really funny, and tried to calm Wesley's fears.  Wesley wouldn't let go of me.  Chase was even more scared though, and didn't want anything to do with them!

going down into the castle

first time on tea cups :-)

Cute mommy duck shading her baby ducks from the sun.  Wesley and I just love seeing all these sweet baby ducks all over!

Lunch in the shade on a bench in Toon Town

Wesley was in awe, and just wanted to touch mickey

I love this one.  Wesley loves the "Fantasia" mickey, and finally got to meet him!

trying to get Chase in a few pictures :-)

Wesley : "The Brooms!!!!"

Wesley is a little hesitant to go up to some of the characters at first, but I am surprised how much he is enjoying meeting all of them, and how fast he warms up to them!

This next picture is monumental.  It is a huge milestone.  I was sooo shocked when I asked Chase if he wanted to go see Minnie, and for the first time, he signed "please" and went *running* up to her.  My jaw almost hit the floor.  He wouldn't look up, but this is a big deal!  Maybe he figured if he was going to wait in line in the hot sun for 20-30 minutes he was going to make sure to at least say hi to her!  Maybe Minnie is not as scary as the other characters?  Maybe he wants to be a big boy like his brother.  What ever the reason, I was pretty excited!

Chase looks thrilled with the experience too.
