Chase's 7th army birthday party

My sweet Chase turned seven in May, and wanted an army themed birthday party.  I originally was just going to put up our bounce house, set out some snacks, and call it good.  However, the perfectionist inside me needed more.  If I was going to invite people over, I needed games.  If I was going to have games, I needed prizes.  Then, obviously, we needed goodie bags.  If I was going to have people inside, I needed a few more decorations...and on and on. I was a bit stressed (as I always am when planning parties), but I'm really happy with the way everything tuned out.  Most of the kids had fun, and Chase had a blast (all that really matters).  After the party he kept telling me how much he loved it, and how it was the best birthday ever.  He thanked me for throwing him such a fun party - and those words right there made all the stress worth it!!

Chase is such a sweet, kind, loving, mellow, well behaved kid.  He always wants to cuddle, and give me hugs.  He often comes up to me, gives me a big hug, and in his quiet, sweet voice says, "Mom, I love you!" He loves when I help out in his class, and runs over to hold my hand. He loves being near me, and always has since he was a baby.  He melts my heart!  He has such a strong desire to please others, and do what is right.  He loves legos, and is an amazing lego builder.  He has an amazing imagination, and loves to dress up and pretend he is a SWAT man, lifeguard, police man, sherif, or army man.  He loves guns and playing games on the xbox.  He wants others to follow the rules, and gets upset with other kids when they don't listen or do what they are supposed to do.  For example, I recently put up our water slide and Chase wanted to be the lifeguard to make sure everyone was following the rules and stayed safe.  After playing on it all day, I asked the kids to get off and help dry it.  Chase was getting so frustrated when the neighborhood kids were not listening, and kept sliding down.  He blew his whistle and told them they needed to help clean!  He is a mature seven year old, and is very trustworthy.  I sure love my Chase, and he is such an amazing kid. He is such an important part of our family, and makes my life so much easier!  He brings so much happiness to my heart, and I'm so thankful he was born into my family!
