Christmas at the Beach

Jason's coworker offered to let us stay at her beach condo for free.  We graciously took her up on that offer and stayed in Oceanside the weekend before Christmas.  We didn't do a lot, but just enjoyed relaxing on the beach and watching the kids have fun.  The beach was only a short walk from the condo, and there was hardly anyone there.  As you can see in some of the pictures, we had the beach almost all to ourselves (besides the regular surfers). Wesley hunted for shells the entire time and we couldn't keep him away from the water, no matter how cold it was.  Chase enjoyed rolling and digging in the sand, and didn't have much of a desire to go in the water.  We ate at a little local Mexican restaurant one night, and the next night we went to Souplantation for Jason's Birthday.   It was fun, but those lovely pregnancy aches and pains crept up on me that weekend.  We went for a walk to the pier which was not too far from the condo, but man 'oh man I struggled with that short walk.  I have been feeling sooo good, and all the sudden that walk brought on all sorts of crazy pregnancy pains, and unfortunately they haven't gone away since!   There were a few times when Jason took the boys for a walk around the beach or the condo by himself to let me rest.  Plus, I didn't want to slow everyone down.  The boys had a blast, and Wesley made numerous comments along the lines of "I LOVE our new beach house" or "I am having so much fun at this beach house!!"  The best part about our mini vacation besides the beach itself, was that there were not a lot of messes to clean up, and the boys could run around and get all their energy out.  :-)

The condo was really pretty, and had a stream that ran through the entire complex with coi fish, and a water fall.  It was also all decorated with Christmas lights and looked really pretty at night.
