What a beautiful month

Jason had three weeks off for Christmas, and during that time we have had a lot of fun going to parks, relaxing, and playing outside. The boys have had a lot of fun playing with Jason as well, and little Chase misses him now that he is back at work.

The boys received a lot of fun new outdoor toys, and we have been enjoying the Sunny afternoons. We bought a scooter from a thrift store and Wesley and Chase both received tricycles from their grandpa Butch (however, they are really big, and Wesley barley fits on it). Also, Jennifer gave us one of her old tricycles that her son has outgrown which is perfect size for the boys.  AND, we recently got a good deal on a power wheel from craigslsit.  So, between all these new gadgets, the boys have been having fun playing outside.   I love our cul-de-sac, and it makes it easy for the boys to ride in the street.  Wesley still can't steer the jeep very well, so he gets frustrated using the car.  Hopefully he figures it out soon, because even I have fun driving in it!! :-)

Wesley also came down with the flu (or a bad cold), and spent a week watching tv from the couch and getting better.   Chase came down with a milder version of what Wesley had, but if you remember the post I made a few months ago - when Chase gets sick, everyone knows!  He fusses and cries all day, and not much makes him feel better.  He takes long naps, but other than that, the poor little guy thinks he is dying.  He still has a runny nose and cough, but he is starting to get better.

Jason has been Mr. Handy man, and has fixed quite a few things around the house during his time off.  He replaced the bathroom exhaust fan, the oven hood, and took apart the pipes under the sink, and snaked them to get out a blockage.  He is also in the process of trimming the big tree in front.  I am pretty sure there is nothing he can't fix!!  :-)

You can tell he is still missing some teeth!  Sweet boy :-)

Wesley got this balance bike for his 2nd Birthday, but is just now finally getting better at riding it

Attempting to reach the peddles on his all terrain tricycle

Jason took Wesley down the street into a little grass ravine to try to go "off roading" in his jeep

Chase and I followed, but Chase wanted to mow the, uh, street
It was all fun until I tried to have Wesley go straight down the middle, instead of up the hills because the power wheel's motor wasn't handling the steep sides very well.   He couldn't steer it straight, and didn't want to drive it anymore.  Guess who got to drive it home?!  :-)

Chase is in a crazy book reading phase.  He wants Jason to read to him all day, but only wants to read the same 4 or 5 books over and over and over.  Jason bought this gigantic board game, book thingy.  Chase really wanted Jason to read it, even there aren't any words (it is a game).  Jason was a good sport and pretended to read it.  I think it is a cute picture :-)

I know Chase is 20 months, but he doesn't eat a lot of veggies, so I still let him eat baby food so he will get some veggies in his diet.  He insists on feeding himself which always leads to a cute messy smile!

Chase needs two things - his pacifier, and his blankie.  He is a real live Linus!

If Wesley asks for water, he is probably going to do some science experiment with it.  I handed him a glass of water, and a minute later he came back like this. "Look Mommy!!!  This water makes things look bigger!!"

Wesley doesn't take many naps anymore.  This often causes him to fall asleep right before dinner almost every night.  Poor little guy was sooo hungry.  He sat in his chair patiently waiting for me to make dinner, and he just couldn't make it.

Park Day with Daddy...can you find him?  :-)

 A face of pure delight!
