Christmas comes so fast. I love Christmas, and am always a little sad to see it come and go so quickly. It is a fun change to be the parent, and watch my kids experience the magic of Christmas. I think it is almost just as exciting watching my kid's reaction on Christmas as it was opening gifts as a kid. Jason and I tried to make December fun for Wesley. We didn't do a lot...he is still little, and doesn't fully understand everything yet. We did the normal stuff, like visit with Santa, decorate cookies, view live nativity scenes, walk around the lights in Rancho and Chino, and use a countdown calendar every day. Everyday Wesley would ask, "What is the number of the day today?!" Christmas was very busy, but a lot of fun. In the morning the four of us opened gifts and got ready for church. We went to church at 11, and Jason's brother and sister joined us. We then had a family luncheon at our house with his family. The kids were getting kind of tired and fussy because it was nap time. However, they settled down after lunch, and it was really nice. Wesley then took a nap, and we had dinner at our house again, but with my family. It was a lot of fun, and Wesley had a blast opening all his gifts from everyone. Every time he would open a present, he had no desire to open any other ones. He was excited to just get that one gift, and wanted to play with only that toy. It was cute. However, Sadly, just like Wesley was sick on his first Christmas, so was Chase. He had his first bad cold, and was fussy and not feeling well all day. By night, he seemed pretty miserable, and had a slight fever. I felt bad that he couldn't have fun with all his new toys. :-( He had fun with them the next day though. AND, he gave me a fun Christmas gift...he has started saying "mama." :-) It melts my heart when he looks at me with those big eyes and says "Mama!" while stretching out his little arms towards me. :-)

All I really wanted that morning (beside my kids to be excited and happy) was to get a quick picture of both of them by the tree. However, as soon as Wesley saw his Santa gift, he wanted nothing to do with the other gifts, or picture taking for that matter. I was happy he liked his gift so much, but I was honestly pretty sad I couldn't get a quick picture of both my kids. Finally after a little tantrum, and some a talking to from Daddy, he finally let me get a few pictures of them. Silly Chase stuck his tongue out the whole time, but at least I got a few quick pictures before the morning ended.
