7 month perspective
Most people say how fast time flies. Although I completely agree with that statement, I dont feel like it was only 7 months ago that I had Chase. I feel like it was a lot longer ago that I was at John's Incredible Pizza in labor, lol. I dont even remember him being a little, tiny baby. However, I was saying the same thing at 2 months too. I think maybe he is an old spirit. Or maybe it is just that he is attached to me all day, so I feel like I have been with him a lot longer. Whatever it is, we sure love our little snuggle bug and are so glad he is a part of our family. At 7 months he is sitting up really well on his own now. He isn't crawling, but can turn himself in circles. He is, and always has been happy and oh so kiss-ably sweet. He isn't really trying to talk, but he has the sweetest giggle, and likes to blow raspberries, and can squeal. He is a very calm, and mellow baby. (When he isn't fussing). He is a very fussy baby (as noted a few posts ago), but when he is being held, can chew on something, or suck on his pacifier, and isn't hungry, he is happy. He has a huge appetite, and can eat all day if I let him. Size one baby food were never big enough for him. He went right to size 2, and could eat two or three of those if I let him. He went from drinking 2-3 oz bottles to full 6-8 oz within a week. I am slowly stating to wean him from nursing, and he went from hating the bottle, to guzzling milk from them. He is my big boy! Wesley and Chase, although they do have similarities, are quite a bit different. Its so funny how little personalities develop from such an early age. Wesley was always a very silly, talkative, funny little guy, and he is still the same way. He was constantly observing people and had to know what was going on. He was super smart, and started talking very early. I dont know how else to describe it, but he was just a silly baby, and is still a really silly and funny toddler who is so excited about life. Chase seems to be a lot more mellow, and calm. He doen't do the silly things Wesley did at this age, but is more laid back. Chase is a very sweet, and easy baby. What I mean by easy is that he is a 'textbook' baby. I had an amazing labor and delivery with him. He slept and ate really well as a newborn. He never had any issues with breastfeeding. In fact, the nurse at the hospital said she wished all babies could watch him eat and learn from him. He gained weight really well, and was never jaundice or sick except for a little case of thrush. He has been a very normal and simple baby who loves to eat and be near mommy. From the time he came home from the hospital, everything felt so natural with him. It was a very easy transition from one to two kids, because he was so easy and simple. However, now he is being difficult when it comes to not sleeping well at night, and being pretty fussy. Never the less, he has been the 'perfect' baby to have following a very traumatic and hard first labor, and a very sick preemie baby. They both bring their own unique spirits to our home, and it is fun watching them grow. As much as they can wear me out, and drive me crazy some days, I sure love my little stinkers!
