dirty job???

SO, recently, my job has reminded me of some of the jobs you see on the TV show hosted by Mike Rowe called "dirty Jobs." Although it does not come close to many of the jobs on that show, I had a moment the other day that reminded me of one of his job. So, I was weighing out 5 grams of a 'soild' sample for a coworker so he could preform a nitrite test on it. Normally a lot of the solid samples can be soil or rocks, or other things like that. Well, this sample was considered a hazardous material, and as I looked on the label, it stated that this sample came from a Clinical lab. I thought, this shouldn't be too bad. Wrong!! As soon as I opened the container, the worst poop/sewage/diarrhea smell escaped. And, as I placed my scoop in the jar, it felt like I was scooping really nasty you know what. Normally I just deal with water, but once in a while you get this nasty stuff. Lol, sorry if that was too much information, but someone has to do it :) Other than that, the job has been going well. I now can perform three tests on my own. I am still getting used to working full time, but overall it is not too bad. An 8 hour shift at this job is a lot less tiring than a 4 hour shift working retail.

Here are some pics of my lab that I thought were kind of cool.

I'm so glad you're enjoying your job. :) I'm so busy traveling the West these days that I hardly go to mine (but that has to stop...cause, you know, I have to pay the bills eventually...)

I'm still in Provo and will graduate (finally) in December. :) Where are you?

ACtually sounds like a pretty fun/unique job. (Besides this incident) What is your title?

I agree, it does sound kind of interesting!!! Hopefully you wont have anymore of 'that stuff' to scoop out again. :)
