My sweet little Blake, aka Bug-a-boo, Blakey-Bug, Buggers, Buggie boy, Bug, turned six this year just a month before the covid shutdowns occurred. He is a spitfire of personality. He is the sweetest, cuddliest little boy while also possessing a pretty strong temper and explosive personality. Being the youngest, he has learned how to fight his brothers when necessary. He knows how to defend his turf, and often uses that same energy on his friends which drives me a bit crazy. Even though he can get upset pretty quickly, he sure LOVES his brothers. He plays with them hours each day. They make each other laugh, make fart noises, play funny songs on Alexa, and invent silly games in our basement. I'm so grateful they have each other.
Blake is such a "typical" rough boy, but at the same time he has a gentle little side to him. His favorite colors are pink and purple, and he loves his colorful vans shoes (ship on vans are his FAVORITE). Blake loves to brush my hair, put essential oils on my legs, do my makeup, and even fix my feet with the callous remover. He loves when the "mommy train" takes him to bed each night (piggy back ride to bed). Every night after I put him to bed, he often jumps out of bed to come find me and says, "We forgot one important thing!!! A big hug and a kiss!!!" He then wraps his little arms around my neck and gives me a giant hug and a big kiss on the check. Even though I think its just a way for him to get out of bed one more time, I love it, and I know these moments are so fleeting. Blake loves animals - especially chickens and bunnies (our pets). He takes such good care of his three chickens and I often find him in the back yard cuddling them. He enjoys playing video games, especially minecraft. He is an amazing reader, and has already started reading small chapter books and he is not even in first grade yet. He is a smart little guy, and I'm hoping he will do well in homeschool this year. He has so much energy. He is very athletic and has great physical strength for a six year old. He recently got a hover-board, and it only took him a day to figure out. He enjoys dancing, spinning, and doing tricks on it. He loves to cook and enjoys following along in his children's cook book. His current specialty is scrambled eggs. He does it all - cracks them, stirs them, turns on the stove, sprays the pan with non stick oil, cooks them, and plates them. Now that he has his own eggs, it makes the cooking process even more special! He also will be playing soccer in the fall and really wants to take snowboarding lessons this year. I love watching his little personality develop. Six is such a fun age.
This year he wanted a cow/farm themed birthday. He was obsessed with cows for a while until we got chickens, and now chickens are his favorite. He also picked airborne as his birthday destination. It was a very simple birthday (had I known the world was going to be shut down due to covid I would have planned a much bigger party for him!). He is my little buddy, and I just love him to pieces. He melts my heart with his sweet high pitched squeaky voice, and I often ask him if he will stay this little forever. He is in such a sweet stage - he is still so little, innocent, and is excited about the world. However, he is old enough to take care of himself and help around the house. Its so fun being out of the baby stage and having three boys that are old enough to enjoy the world with me.
He started giving me this really cute, funny smile a few months ago when ever I took his picture. If I said, smile bigger, his face just got more contorted. I love it ha ha ha
