Yellowstone - Stormy point hike

Oh Yellowstone - gorgeous, amazing, unbelievable yellowstone.  So much glorious nature in one national park.  Every turn brought new views, new animals, and new geothermic features.  The nature lover inside me was full of so much happiness.  Even my boys didn't complain *too* much on the long hikes because the land was filled with so much wonder and unique features.

We stayed at the only campsite in Yellowstone that had full amenities - water, sewer hookups, and electricity.  The lots were tiny and squished, but we were out exploring all day and didn't need a big campsite anyways.  Across from our campsite was a forest that my boys enjoyed playing in.  Bears frequent this camp site, so I told them I had to be able to see them at all time.  This campsite was in the center of Yellowstone, so we were only a couple hours from any attraction we wanted to visit. The first day we arrived around 2 or 3'oclock.  After setting up the trailer we didn't want to drive far, so we headed over to a close hike called Stormy point hike (I think?). It was a nice, flat hike that ventured through some open grasslands where the Bison like to roam, and it also went through the forest where bears are frequently spotted. The park rangers advised us to bring bear spray and to keep the kids close.  The hike also took us down to Yellowstone Lake where the boys got to throw rocks and play in the water, and I got to enjoy gorgeous views.  The weather was perfect, and this hike was a nice introduction to Yellowstone.
