Wesley also got his braces and expander off this Summer. He only had them on his top four teeth to correct a cross bite, but he is very happy to have them off!
Slime making (that we failed at because we put too much activator in it).
My handsome, silly, strong willed Blake! He dressed himself for church one sunday (and picked out his hair style), and I LOVE it! Imagine how colorful and happy church would be if everyone dressed like this! :-)
Thanksgiving Point with Erin
Scout Geology adventure
One day I was getting really antsy, so I took the boys to Ikea for $2 breakfast, and then surprised them after with a visit to airborne (trampoline park). I bought two hour passes, and my energetic boys jumped and bounced the entire time! I thought they would wear themselves out after and hour, but they didn't want to stop!
My boys don't dress up as much as they used to, but sometimes they surprise me with amazing outfits. Chase came upstairs with his astronaut dress up on with his rocket ship over. It was hilarious - mainly because he was so serious about it. Blake was his super hero captain sidekick. I love this age!
Blake has been having really bad stomach pains over the past month. The pains come and go, and fluctuate in intensity. One night he was moaning and rolling on the ground in pain so I took him to urgent care. They didn't know what was wrong and told me to take him to the ER to get an ultrasound. I drove 30 minutes to children's primary in Salt Lake (looking back I wish I just took him to a local ER). We were there until 1:00 am, and we left still not knowing what was happening. They gave me laxatives to give him to flush his system (which was not fun since he could only drink clear fluid for a day during the cleansing). His stomach still hurt after getting cleaned out so I made an appointment with his pediatrician the following week. She couldn't figure out the cause of the pain and referred me to a GI specialist. Long story short - no one still really knows, but the pain is pretty much gone for now, so I'm hoping and praying that the pain doesn't come back!!
I took Chase and Blake to the Salt Lake county fair (Wesley didn't want to go). This fair was small and not very exciting, but it was FREE and the boys loved it. There was a children's rodeo (we lasted 10 minutes before getting board), free bounce houses, a free petting zoo, food trucks, free hay ride, and some exhibits. It was the smallest and least exciting fair I've ever been to, but the boys had an absolute blast and didn't want to leave. My favorite part was the bunnies! I love bunnies!
There is a small marsh about 10 minutes from our home. One evening we hiked there as a family and found hundreds of baby frogs jumping all over the ground. The boys and I had such a fun time watching them hop all over, and my boys even caught a few to "cuddle" with.
My boys are getting older, and they are starting to shy away from splash pads. However, when I drag them to one, they have so much fun and play for a good hour.
Our sweet little hamster puts up with so much love
