Willow the Bunny

I have a serious week-ness for fluffy animals - especially bunnies.  I came across an online add from a family that was moving and needed to re-home their bunny.  For only $25 they were also including her new outdoor hutch, and about $100 worth of food, bedding, and accessories.  My boys have been wanting a bigger pet for a while, and a bunny seemed like the perfect animal to bring home.  Before even thinking, I  texted this family to come look at her.  The bunny only lived 5 minutes from us, and upon arrival my boys were already in love - we just had to make her part of the family.   I couldn't fit the HUGE hutch in my car, so the father of this home offered to drop it off at our house.  Once the bunny was situated, she probably received more love within 30 minutes, than she has her entire lifetime.  We got an indoor cage for her, as well as a bunny play pin to give her room to run around. My boys are obsessed with her, and Willow doesn't quite know what to think about that.  She was an outdoor bunny all her life, so I don't know how much love and attention she received at her previous home (she seems to be well taken care of though).  She puts up with lots of cuddles, but seems to get scared easily and is unsure about being inside.  I don't think she is used to so much noise and chaos. My boys backed her into a corner (they were just trying to love on her), and she got scared and bit Blake on the check.  I felt so bad for Blake - he loves this bunny so  much, and he felt so sad that she would hurt him. I've been trying to explain to my boys that she needs gentle and soft love.   Luckily, within an hour Blake was already asking to hold her and feed her again and doesn't seem too phased by the nip.  The boys have been great about feeding her every day, and I often hear them giggling over the cute things she does.  Chase tells me often how happy he is to have a bunny.  I don't think I've seen my boys (especially Blake) this happy in a long time.  Willow is one well loved bunny!!!!

Attempting to take her on a walk - she was not too happy about it!
