~note~ When reading these, you have to remember Blake is two and learning how to talk, so while some of these are not super interesting, when they come out of the mouth of a newly talking two year old, they become pretty magical. :-)
--When Blake talks, he pauses in between each word --- kind of like a robot. Its cute, almost like he is thinking about each word and how to say it correctly. He also has a really high pitched squeaky adorable voice and when he talks the last word is usually SUPER high pitched. For example, "I...go...school....today?" With "today" being super high pitched.
--Blake was pointing to my chest, and said, "Whats that meatball?" - In his defense he calls a lot of things "meatball".
-- Blake is beginning to listen to the bigger words we say and he will try to use them in sentences. Recently he has been using the word "nervous." For example he will say, "Poo poo makes me nervous." or "Mama, you make me nervous." He was getting out of the bathtub and was cold and he said, "I'm soooo cold! Cold make me nervous!!"
--We have been watching the short video (made by Disney?) with the Volcano singing to the other Volcano "I lava you!" Blake loves it, and now he won't say I love you, but "I lava you." At night when I put him to bed and I tell him that I love him, he gets a big smile and will sing "I lava you!" Its so cute!!
--He loves to put "my" in front of pronouns. For example, we baby sit a little girl named Addie, and he will often say, "Where my Addie?" or "I Play with my Addie." My favorites are when he sees me, and he gets a HUGE smile and says, "My Mommy!" Jason was buckling him into the car and he said, "I lava my nana." or "My Wesley is over there!" and so on.
--Blake likes to try to "tease" me. In the car he will say, "Mommy? Mommy!" And after I say, "what?" he says, "never-mind!!" and then laughs and laughs!
--He loves to pretend to be a kitty cat, and almost everyday you will find him crawling and meowing on the floor.
--Every time he hurts a body part he will say, "My leg fell off!!" or "Look!! My toe broke off!!" or "Oh no!!! Look Mommy, Look!! My foot is all gone!!"
--Sometimes Blake will wait too long to go to the bathroom and will have an accident as he is trying to pull down his pants. When that happens I'll hear him yell, "Uh OHHH!! I have a BIG
problem!!!"
--I sing him the song "You are my Sunshine" at night, and part of it says, "You make me happy when skies are grey..." He loves to tell me "Mommy, you make me happy!!" or when he doesn't something he shouldn't and he gets placed in time out he will cry, "I want to make you happy!!!" Its so sad!
--He was fighting with his brother and I told him he has to share and that sharing is part of life. Blake said, "I no like life!! Life make me sad!"
--He loves to come to me and say, "Are you KIDDING ME?!"
Chase:
--After asking how his first day of Kindergarten was he said, "I love my teacher!! She is the best kindergarten teacher I ever had!"
--One night I asked Chase if he wanted to go with me to get ice cream and he said, "Of course Mommy!! I just love you so much! You are the best Mommy!! I love you more than I love my birthday, and more than Christmas, and more than presents, and more than I love school, and more than my paw patrol party, and more than anything in the world!!"
--Chase has been in a cute mood lately, and loves playing with Blake. He will tell me over and over, "I Love Blake. I love him soooo much! I love to play with him! He's my best friend!" Then Blake will say "Chase love me! Chase play with me! I love Chase!" Nothing melts my Mommy heart more than seeing my boys play together and love each other.
--One of the days off of school I told Chase that he didn't have to go to school that day. While Wesley was saying, "YAY!!" Chase was saying, "Awwww...I love school..."
--Chase loves to be tidy and organized (as much as five year old can be). In class, he raised his hand (which is brave for him), and told the teacher that one of the books on the book shelf was facing the wrong way and he wanted to go fix it).
Wesley:
--Wesley was pealing an orange that had a lot of bumps on it and said, "Is this orange cold, because it has a lot of [goose] bumps on it!!"
--At church Wesley was eating a snack that said, "Only 100 calories." Loudly Wesley came up to me and said, "Mommy - are these 100 BAD calories, or 100 GOOD calories?" The family behind us started busting up!
--During the primary program Wesley started saying his part very loudly into the microphone. The primary president who was helping the kids must have whispered to him to speck quieter because all the sudden he started whispering very quietly. She then whispered in his ear again I assume to speck louder because he then started screaming into the microphone. This when back and forth a few times until at the end he loudly said, "Goodbye!!!" The congregation was giggling the whole time. It is guaranteed that if Wesley is near a microphone - especially at church - the audience will surely be entertained (and Mommy will probably be embarrassed ha ha ha).
--Wesley has been testing for a program called SALTA in our school district which, if he passes, would allow him to go to a school for advanced learners. The tests were held after school, so on the testing days I wasn't supposed to pick up Wesley until three hours after school let out. Unfortunately, I got one of the testing dates wrong and didn't pick him up thinking he had a test. The school tried to call me, but I was outside playing with Blake and didn't have my phone on me. Jason was in DC, and the school finally got a hold of my aunt (who works full time, and lives like 20-30 min away). I finally went inside my house, only to find tons of messages on my phone. I was AN HOUR late. I felt HORRIBLE. I rushed to his school as fast as I could, and sweet Wesley greeted me with a smile. I apologized over and over, and he said in his sweet voice, "Its ok Mommy!! Everyone makes mistakes!" and he gave me a big hug. What a sweet boy!
--Wesley missed two days of school, and during that time his class learned a new math subject. The day Wesley returned back to school, the class was going to be tested on that subject, so his teacher spent 10 min with him briefly going over the math. Apparently, he was the only one in the class that got 100% on the test even though he wasn't even at school to learn about the math. He also regularly gets A's on his spelling tests even though I don't go over the spelling words with him. He is often board at school, so we are hoping he can get into the SALTA program so he can be more challenged.
