* Wesley: "Mommy - I love you more than all the calculated AND uncalculated numbers in pi!!"
* While getting ready for church Wesley was watching me put on makeup and said, "Mommy - you are the most beautiful Mommy I've ever seen. I've been looking at other Mommies, and you are the prettiest!!" Wesley has no idea how much that meant to me - especially because I have been feeling particularly "blah" lately.
*Wesley recently informed me that he is too old for the goodnight song and the bedtime story. I was a little sad, but I don't want to push it if he really doesn't want to do those things anymore. After asking friends for advice, I decided to ask Wesley if he would like "mommy/Wesley" time each night after I put his brothers to bed. We could look at rocks, talk about pokemon cards, or read books. He got soo excited and told me he would like that. The next day he came up to me in the evening after dinner and gave me a hug and said, "I'm so excited for Mommy/Wesley time tonight!" The first night he told me all about his pokemon cards. The next night we turned off the lights and read a book using a flashlight about meteors. Some night he just wants "alone time." Hopefully this will be a good routine that we will be able to carry out until he is a teenager. :-)
*Wesley will often comment on the food I make by saying things like, "You are the best cook EVER!! You make the most delicious food!!! I Love the food you make!!!" I've never been a great cook. I do think I am getting better, but once again, he will probably never know how much that means to me. Not many people comment on my cooking, so those sweet little words really do make me so happy.

*Chase has been such a sweet brother lately. He will unbuckle Blake from his car seat, or try to buckle him in. One day as he rushed over (without me even asking) to unbuckle Blake from the car, Blake sneezed ALL over him. Poor Chase's face was priceless. I felt so bad that he was trying to help, and ended up getting blake snot on him.
*To go along with Chase being a good helper, he also loves to help watch Blake outside. Chase will come and tell me, "Mommy - can Blake play outside too? I will watch over him." It is so, so sweet. He does a great job. I will watch from the window, and Chase will make sure he doesn't go in the street, or do anything he is not supposed to do. He also will hold Blakes hand in the store, or help get him food, and so on. I don't know what started this phase, but I love it, and it sure is sweet to see how much Chase loves Blake and wants to help take care of him.
*Chase loves to tell me how much he loves me when I'm putting him to bed. Some of my favorites are : "I love you more than I love my Birthday!" (for a kid - that is HUGE!). and "I love you more than five hundred twenty sixty hundred eighty hundred sixty hundred eighty hundred...." and on and on until I gently say, "oh wow, thank you! That is a lot!"
*Chase came up to me and said, "Do you know what my treasure is? My family" and as he is saying this he gets the sweetest little smile, and hugs me super tight. Seriously, this kid is so, so sweet. He melts me heart.
*Chase was sitting on the couch watching a movie, and I walked up to him and asked if I could cuddle with him. He said without hesitation, "Mommy - you can ALWAYS cuddle with me!!" Later during the movie there was a sad part and Wesley started to cry a little and Chase said, "Mommy - with your arms around me, I will always be happy."
*His teachers at church always comment on how reverent Chase is and well behaved.

*When Blake wants to do something himself he says, "I-a" do it!!!!
*One of my favorite things about Blake at this stage is how excited he gets when he sees me. If only a few minutes goes by from the time he last saw me (like if he is watching tv and I'm on the computer, and then I walk back in the room), he will open his little arms as wide as they go, and will run towards me yelling, "Maaaaaaaaammmmyyy!!!!" Or he often will say, "My Mommy!!!" and will give me a giant hug. I love it so much, and I will be sad when he outgrows this stage. At night when I put him to bed, or at nap time, after he is all snug under the covers he will tell me in his sweet voice, "ni ni Mom-me" or "oouuuu" for I love you.
*At night after I tuck him in and turn out the lights, he often gets up, turns on the light, turns off his sound machine and fan, and then cries and wants me to do it all again. I still can't figure out why I need to put him to bed twice, but it is what it is. THEN he wakes up around 5:30 every...single...day. SOMEtimes he will "sleep in" until 6 or even 6:30, but not very often. I then groggily go downstars, give him milk, turn on Sprout, and lay next to him to try to go back to sleep. Ten minutes later he jumps on me, wakes me up, and yells in my ear "BAR!!!" I get up, and give him a z-bar, and try to go back to sleep on the couch. He is happy for another 10 minutes before waking me up and asking me for something else - usually Paw Patrol or a "snack." Then, after I go back to sleep, he is happy until a commercial comes on, and he will get up and wander off, and my Mommy senses wake me up so I have to go find him, and by that time since I have been woken up about 5 times in a 40 minute period, I just get up. It is seriously the exact same thing repeated EVERY day. It is ground hog day. I'm tired. Very tired. But I know this is just a phase, and it will be over before I even realize it.
*When Blake says a prayer, he only repeats the last word of every sentence. He also folds his arms, and squeezes his little eyes as tight as they will go and rocks back and forth. It melts my heart! :-)
