Wesley started first grade this year. I was nervous about Wesley being in school ALL day this year, but so far he seems to be doing great. When I picked him up on the first day of school he said, "School was AWESOME!!! I almost cried when the bell rang, because I didn't want to go home!!" His teacher is so loving, and sweet, and she seems to be perfect for him! He already went on his first field trip. They took the train to Salt Lake and visited a children's museum. He told me he had an "awesome" time. (He has been using that word a lot lately about school)!
Chase just started Pre-K this year. I'm not a huge fan of preschool, and I think they are overrated. Kids have to go to school their entire childhood. I like having my kids home as long I can. However, because of Chase's speech delays, he is a little behind in a few areas. Since he doesn't qualify for preschool through the district anymore, I told him he was going to stay home with Mommy, and I was going to be his teacher. However, the more I thought about it, the more I realized preschool would be a really good experience for him. By the time we decided to enroll Chase, most had already started for the school year. We went on a few tours, and one school stood out above the rest. This school not only has amazing reviews, but is one of the top preschools in the area. We enrolled him for two days a week, 2.5 hours a day (with pick up and drop off, it ends up being about 3 hours a day). He seems to really like it, and his teacher is wonderful. His school doesn't allow backpacks, but all the kids are supposed to bring a book bag. We didn't have one for him, so I called my mom on Friday. He needed one by Tuesday. My amazing mom made one, and got it to us my Monday. He was SOOOO excited to get to take his special train bag that grandma made for him on his first day of school. She also made an extra one that Blake loves to hold as we drop off his brothers at school.

Space backpack, space lunch bag, and space shirt! He has been into space lately! |
His school was so fun. On the first day of school, they rolled out the red carpet, and all the teachers were on the side lines cheering on the students as they entered the school. The parents were the paparazzi!!
