Our summer ~part two~

We have a membership to the Discovery museum in California.  It just so happens to also get us in to museums all over the USA. I never intended to use it like this, but once we moved,  I'm happy we got to continue using our pass.  There happens to be about eight museums in the Salt Lake region that our pass gets us in  for free!!!  I have taken the boys all over to different museums, and it has been a lot of fun.  I usually go to the more local ones, but one day I decided to take the train to Salt Lake to go to two  museums located downtown.  One is a children's museum, and the other is a planetarium.  At the planetarium,  we watched a show in the dome about Black Holes.  Wesley was fascinated.  Chase and Blake fell asleep.  It was a fun outing, and Chase of course loved riding on the train.

On the way home, both Chase and Wesley fell asleep on the train.  Blake, who can't keep his baby hands to himself, kept poking poor Chase.

This summer, Chase has put a lot of miles on this jeep!  He LOVES this car, and has become a really good driver!

Another museum we love to go to is at Thanksgiving point called the museum of curiosity.  It is a lot of fun, and we have gone there quite a few times.  These pics are from the last time we visited before our passes expired.

Wesley is ALWAYS exploring.  He is always busy learning, and touching, and wondering....and making Mommy a nervous wreck   

One day I took the boys about 10 minutes up the hill behind our home to have a picnic at a small park I had heard about.   The park was tiny, but the view on the top was amazing.  I was blown away that this was only ten minutes from my house.  Gorgeous! After we ate our little picnic, we played at the park for a while.  The weather was PERECT.  It was nice and sunny, but also really cool.  The air up here smells sooo good.  I'm always commenting on how amazing the air smells, and people who have lived up here forever (who don't know what smoggy California smells like), look at me like I'm crazy.  After playing at the park, we walked across the street to the cutest cafe where we got some ice cream.  I love perfect days like this.  To me, this is what Summer is all about.

Homemade chalk paint.  I was trying to be a fun mom as I imagined a sidewalk full of fun art.  Well, my three little boys had much more fun dumping it out, rolling in it, and making a big brown mess, lol.  Hey - as long as they had fun ;-)

We purchased a little outdoor table and chair set a month ago.  We have had a few dinners outside.  I think the boys get too distracted though, and end up spilling and not eating.  Its still fun to do once in a while.   Chase loves eating lunch out there with me when Wesley is in school, and Blake is taking a nap.  He calls it "Mommy - Chase time."  Its one of my favorite times of the day!

I bought a water table, and a kiddie pool for our back yard, but both usually end up full of mud.  Once again - it's not what I envisioned them being used for, but my boys have a blast.  I usually end up having to hose everyone off, and strip them down before coming inside.

There are sooo many trails and bike paths around our town.  I LOVE it! Being outside in nice weather makes me soooo happy, and I love that my boys love being outside too. One night Jason stayed home with Blake, and I took the older two on a bike ride (I walked/jogged).  I love nice evenings like this!
