Easter

The boys were getting over a cold on Easter, so I stayed home with them while Jason went to church.  We had a pretty laid back, simple Easter.  Wesley and Chase were so excited to see what the Easter Bunny left in their baskets.  Wesley of course got some rocks....his favorite, and some toys...which he made clear he didn't really like, even though he sure had fun playing with them later.  Chase loved everything, and would have been happy with one little toy.  The Easter Bunny was going to hide eggs after church instead of having them already hidden in the morning since we have 9am church.  However, since the boys didn't go to church, Wesley was extremely impatient to hunt for eggs, and kept asking where the Easter Bunny hid them.  I felt bad for not hiding them earlier, but I thought an afternoon hunt wouldn't be so rushed.   I wanted to wait until Jason got home so we could do the hunt together, but they were too excited to wait.  So, after we got dressed I distracted them with a show while the, uh, Easter Bunny hid the eggs outside.   Wesley just couldn't wait, and was going crazy.  He wanted to find the eggs sooooo bad!  They went out, and every time Chase spotted one he yelled, "Easter Egg!!!"  He was so excited each time he found one.  Wesley was just trying to grab as many as he could.  The Easter Bunny put coins inside the eggs instead of candy, and they enjoyed counting their change.  I am really trying to limit our sugar intake.  Later on, Jason made a ham dinner for us while I took a nap, and I took the boys to my parent's house later for dessert.

Trying to dye eggs and prevent messes at the same time with a 2 year old and a 5 year old is no easy task!
