Wesley all of the sudden is doing really well at going on the toilet. More #1 than #2, but he really should be "officially" potty trained sooner rather than later. I am pleasantly surprised. After trying many forms of bribes, putting food coloring in the toilet when he goes finally did the trick! One drop for pee, three drops for poo. He loves picking out the colors and watching them swirl together. Plus, he has a chart with stickers he loves too. I realized I was pushing him too hard, and getting too upset. I kept telling myself.. "April..he is two! Don't get so upset!" We are just both so stubborn. I just stopped pushing and would just ask every day, "Do you want to wear a diaper, or big boy underwear today?" And he finally started wanting to wear undies. He even has started saying, "I LOVE going pee pee and poo poo on the toilet!" It is one of those sayings only a mom can be excited to hear. Gosh...Potty training is soo frustrating, but also pretty rewarding when they actually go! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he will continue doing so well.
Also...just because this is the other biggest challenge for me right now....Chase actually slept through the night two nights in a row!!! YAY!!! Yes, I did keep getting up to make sure he was still breathing. I am so used to waking up through the night, I dont think I even got that much extra sleep. Don't worry though...last night he was back to his good 'ol self. :-) It is progress though people...it is progress!!!
