So, I recently bought a large swaddle me swaddling blanket for Chase in a hope that it would get him to sleep longer. Chase loved wearing them when he was a newborn, but as soon as summer came it was too hot to swaddle him, so I stopped. That is when he started sleeping poorly. He got so big so quick and outgrew the small blankets we had, I didn't even think about swaddling him again. However, I found some large swaddling blankets (they are pretty much straight jackets) on amazon. I swaddled my huge 7 month old, 20 lb baby like a newborn in the warm swaddle me blanket, and he slept until 3;30am, and after nursing again until 7:30. A miracle! He now takes naps too! He loves it! He loves being pressed as close to me as he can get, so it is the next best thing i guess. Yay! If this continues, I might have to change my last post to "Chase...my easy baby!" Lol. Its amazing what a few extra hours of sleep can do!! Everything seems easier and better when I'm not so sleep deprived. Well...I will always be sleep deprived with kids, but you know...
Chase is still in my room since he has been waking up so much at night. I have a really cute crib for him in the Boy's room, but it is getting all dusty. Weirdly enough...when the time comes that he will actually get to use it, I am going to miss him being so close. Its funny how we get a new perspective of life when we are about to loose something. I have been feeling like this stage of sleepless nights was going to last forever. Now that I have hope that there might actually be an end in sight, I realize how much I have enjoyed spending time with Chase in those morning hours...just the two of us. Not the nights where he is up all night... but rather the times in the early morning when I bring him into my bed, and just cuddle for a few hours so both of us can get more sleep. I have been doing that every morning since he was born, and I really do love that time with him.
