The 3 month picture I took of my little guy :-) |
Being a mom of two is exhausting...However, I love my little stinkers more than anything, and I wouldn't change a thing...but boy am I tired! I have tons of stuff to post about, and I just dont have as much time to blog as I used to, so it kind of piles up.
My little bubbas will soon be four months. He is a ball of joy and smiles. From the time he was one month old he has given me the biggest smiles. He coos and squeals and giggles and it is so much fun to hear all his baby noises. However, he is quite the little stinker already. He used to be so, so good at sleeping at night. From the time he came home from the hospital, he was an amazing sleeper. Never crying at night, and always going right back to bed. He quickly adopted a 9 (ish) bedtime and slept until 3 or 4 and then another few hours. I was in heaven. However, it has all changed in the last two weeks. He still goes to bed around the same time, but he cries and cries at night and it is hard to feed him. He then wakes up around 12 or 1, and I try to get him to go back to sleep with out too much talking or holding so he learns night time is for sleeping. He will wake again in an hour or two until I nurse him around 3. He then might go back to sleep for another hour if I'm lucky and then he is up again. Any idea how to get him back in the habit of sleeping? It is exhausting! Wesley was sleeping through the night in his own crib at about this age, so I'm not sure what I am doing differently. He then will only take a few half hour naps unless I am holding him, then he might take a longer one (I am trying to type one handed while he is sleeping on me right now). He loves to be cuddled, but it gets really hard when I am trying to tend to Wesley and he is screaming when I set him down. He cries a lot, and I dont know if he is in pain, or gassy, or just mr. fussy pants. He does amazing when we are out and he can see new things. People never believe me when I tell them how fussy he gets, because he is soo calm and happy when we are out (luckily). I know this phase will pass quickly, and I honestly dont remember all Wesley's little phases which is why I want to try to document Chase's quirks before I forget them. Other than that, I love my little sweet guy so much. He doesn't like being left alone in the bouncy chair or car seat without being rocked or bounced, and will arch his back and wiggle his way out of it almost. He has been doing this since he was maybe 2 months old. He hates baths (I thought all babies loved baths!?). He loves being cuddled with his head in my left arm facing my body like he is nursing. He loves nursing, and gets all cute and cuddly. Nursing is challenging for me, but I am doing my best to go as long as I can because I know it is the best. However, there have been a few times, particularly when we are in public, when he refuses and I'll have to make him a bottle. I think he can sense when I am not comfortable, so he is not comfortable. We have a pretty close bond, and I love the way he looks into my eyes like he has known me forever, and gives me that big gummy smile. He is soo, soo chubby..chunk on top of rolls on top of chunk. Chase's eyes are still a dark blue, but I am guessing they will turn a green/hazel. We will see. Wesley's eyes were pale ice blue by the time he was 3 months old. We love our sweet little Chase, and his gorgeous smile lights up my world.
Wesley is still my crazy little guy. I dont know how such a big personality fits into such a skinny little body. Some random things about him at this age....He is amazed by the world, and constantly is trying to build rockets, and space ships, and letters out of blocks or any pile of toys he can. He constantly is saying, "look mommy, I make a spaceship!" Or "Look! I make a "T!" He recognizes letters in everything,,,he sees an "x" in two sticks that overlap, or an "m" in a bent wire. He loves to take his pieces of cereal or raisins and he will tell me a letter and wants me to create it with his food. He likes to count any pile he has, and can go to 20. I have some probiotic vitamins, and I call them my 'bacteria' because that is really what they are lol! I ask if he wants some bacteria, and he will eat it and say "Mmmmmm...this bacteria is soooooooooo good Please more bacteria!" Lol, it makes me laugh every time. He is in the phase where he is constantly asking me "whats that?" to everything. It is cute that he is so interested in the world. He is so over the top about everything, and is always exclaiming things like"WOW!" "BEAUTIFUL!" "SOOOO FUN!" to every little thing we do or see. One day he put his blocks in the time out corner. He told me "blocks in time out!" I asked why and he said "blocks hit mommy!" They never did, but certainly a valid reason to go in time out! He loves when Daddy comes home. As soon as he hears the garage door open he yells "Daddy's home!!!!!!" He loves him so much, it is cute :-) He has a little temper on him though, and we are trying hard to work on that. He is a cute little guy, and although he wears me out some-days, he sure does put a smile on my face with his fiery orange/red hair and cute personality to match.
Here are some things that we have been up to the last month:
this is all the hair he was born with!! |
Look how much hair he lost! All that remains is a little poof |
It looked funny being the only thing left, so I shaved it off. Now he is my little bald baby. |
love that little face |
I can squish it and kiss it all day |
trying out the jumper for the first time |
sweet chubby baby hands |
love that face |
Last but not least....My brother got married! I was so busy with my little guys that I did not take too many pictures. My mother in law watched Wesley for us at our house while we were at the temple, but we took Chase so I could nurse him. At the reception, I tried to get some pictures of Wesley with my brother and Jocelyn, but he was such a little stinker! He refused to take any pictures...and he LOVES uncle Chris and Jocelyn. I have only one of him...and it is of him laying on the floor all sprawled out. Oh well...that is a toddler for you.
