Wesley is always keeping me entertained and amazed. He is 22 months old, and is such a silly character. He has a really good memory, and it surprises me how much kids pick up and retain. We were playing with his alphabet blocks one day, and I gave him a random letter (not in order), and he would put it on the couch. We continued until all but one letter was on the couch. I grabbed it before he could see it, and I asked him what letter was left, and he knew exactly what letter it was. I could never do that. Then, there are a few of his favorite books that he loves to read all the time. I will read a few words and stop, and he will tell me what the next word is for the entire book. He has a few books completely memorized. He also is recently obsessed with flowers. When ever we go outside, he always has to pick one of our yellow flowers (aka dandy-lion weeds) and will smell it until his nose is bright yellow from the pollen. He loves to smell flowers...even if they dont have a scent. He has to smell all the flowers in a book, or on my shirt, and so on. He is such a sweet little boy, but he does have his moments! We are trying to teach him how to clean up after himself. He has a Big bag of hot-wheel cars that he loves to play with, as well as a bag of letters, and a bag of blocks. We try to teach him that we can only have one open bag at a time. He will bring me the bag that he wants open and say, "open it please!" (the please usually only comes after we say, "what do you say?") We then tell him to pick up what is on the floor first, and he is getting pretty good at doing that. It is a long teaching process, but one that will hopefully keep me sane and the house somewhat in order. Last Sunday morning I woke up and looked down the hall to a bathroom full of toilet paper. Wesley had unrolled an entire roll and shredded it in little pieces. I'm trying to give him more decisions, because I feel that is really important. I told him he could help me clean it up, or he would go to time-out. He didn't want to clean it, so we went to time out. He used to get up all the time, but he is doing a lot better. He then says "sorry!" and gives mommy a kiss. We will see how it goes as the months go by. I love my little stinker more than I ever thought possible before having kids. I am always amazed at how much we love our children, and are able to care for them in the best way they need from the time they are born. Biology is amazing like that.
I babysat Wesley's friend Kyle this morning. His mom is also pregnant, and is only a week behind me. It is fun to have our first kids so close in age, and also have the new babies so close in age. Wesley and Kyle are so different from one another. Kyle is so calm and quiet, and Wesley is loud and crazy, but opposites attract, and they have a lot of fun together. :-) Sweet little guys!

Wesley and his frogie he sleeps with every night |
I woke up this morning to this beautiful chair in my living room. I was so excited! Jason put it together late last night, and surprised me with it. What a sweet hubby!!! I have been wanting a nice gliding chair since I had Wesley, and now I can't wait to use it with the new baby!
