After moving, and wiggling, the needle over and over, the phlobotomist ended up having to try his other arm because she just couldn't get the vein.
Babies dont know why they have to get their blood taken. Wesley looked into my eyes and gave me his sweet smile as the nurse was getting him ready. He had no idea what was coming. Yes, there are a lot worse things that could happen, but I still feel bad.
He had his blood taken a few weeks prior too, but he hardly cried that time.
Luckily, his thyroid was ok. The numbers were pretty high a few weeks ago, so he got re-checked and all was well. Yay! Blood is amazing...it can tell a person all sorts of stuff about their body.
Wesley also has a physical therapy appointment yesterday because at his one year check up he was a little behind in his gross motor skills, which is normal for a preemie. Well...it took a month to see the therapist. In that month he accomplished everything that we were worried about (crawling, pulling him self up, cruising along furniture). The therpaist saw him, and was a little baffled as to why he was there. She said he was exactly where he should be for a 13 month old, even though they compare him to a 12 month old. Yay! A month ago he couldn't even get up from his back, and now he is all over the place. It is crazy how fast he is developing, and catching up. I love my little stinker :-)
....and just because it is funny :-p

I can't stand that sweet innocent look they give you as they are about to get a shot. I feel like I am betraying them. And answer me this, why is it that they always are super happy right before and giving you their best smiles? Cute bum pic though :)
I can't believe how red is hair is in this picture! Is it that red in person?! I hate it when he has to get shots too - feeling like I'm the culprit.
