Welcome 2010! 2009 was an awesome year, so I am excited to see what this year will bring!

Christmas was a lot of fun. Unfortunatly, Wesley came down with his first cold on christmas Eve, but he still managed to have fun with his toys. He was a little more sluggish than usual, but he loved opening his gifts. Christmas is amazing with kids. I can't even imagine what it will be like in a few years.

Wesley turned 9 months old before Christmas, so this post is a little past-due. At his appointment, he was almost 21 lbs, and a little over 28 inches. He is pretty much exactly in the 5oth percentile, except for his head, which is in the 95th percentile. I would like to think it is because of all his brains! He had a head ultrasound to make sure everything is good in there. He had a routine scan while in the NICU, and everything was ok then, so his doctor said there is a 99% chance he is fine, but she wanted to be safe. The results came back today, and his head looks perfect! That is always great news to hear!

Wesley is such a little joy though. I am in love! Who would have thought I could love a little baby ball so much. He is such a sweet spirit. It is amazing how babies come to earth with their own personalities. He loves to talk. He says mama, dada, baba, a-duck, and a few other words that I really dont know what they mean, but I am pretty sure he knows. He is always babbling. However, he sure has no interest in crawling like he loves talking. He just lays on the floor and "swims." He doesn't even seem interested in crawling. He is content laying on his back observing the world. He is seriously such an observant baby. His doctor thinks it is amusing how he turns his head to look at each person that is talking. He loves faces...he lightly touches anyone's face that is holding him. He loves to grab my dad's eyebrows and nose. It is so sweet how he caresses my cheek. It seems like he usually trys to be gentle. He LOVES staring at people, and nature. Yup, that's my boy...he loves his outdoors. I remembered that I needed to take his 9 month pictures yesterday after church. I am a few weeks late, but I have been trying to do a monthly photoshoot of him. He is such an awesome baby when it comes to letting me take his picture. He just sits there and smiles and smiles. I dont know what I will do if my next one hates getting their picture taken! I love taking pictures. I would have never guessed a few years ago that I would have become so serious about photography. Anyway, we are doing great, and life is amazing!
