doing better every day

Sweet Wesley just moments after being disconnected from the ventilator. He was just looking around, taking the world in for the first time. :)

Little Wesley is getting stronger every day. He is off the ventilator and all his medication. He is breathing on his own, and is being given oxygen through his nose. He still has a feeding tube, and they are giving him some breast milk every three hours. They will hopefully try to have him feed from a bottle in the next day or so. He loves sucking on his pacifier, so hopefully he will be able to suck on a bottle and eventually breast feed. Jason and I got to hold him for the first time yesterday. It was so awesome to be able to hold the little baby I have been carrying for 34 weeks. They laid him on my chest, and he went right to sleep. I still get a little nervous holding him because he is so tiny, and is hooked up to so many monitors. Jason and I also got to change his diaper yesterday. Jason and I are doing well. It is hard going back and forth to the hospital, but sweet Wesley is so worth it. Jason has been a huge help. I couldn't have done this with out him. He is a great daddy :) Thanks for everyone's prayers. I know they are helping our little guy to get stronger everyday.
