Baby Wesley Hunter Burnell

I sent this as an e-mail, so I appologize if you are reading this again... and sorry for spelling errors...

We would like to thank everyone for all the support and prayers. We appologize for not being able to call everyone back, so I just wanted to send out an update. Little Wesley is still in NICU and will probably be there for a few more weeks. He is unable to breath on his own and is hooked up to a ventalator. He is currently on like 5 medications and they have him sedated and paralyzed becuase he was fighting all the equipment. He had to receve a blood transfussion because his blood count was low, so that will hopefully help him out a little bit. He is still pretty sick, but each day he seems to slowly be getting better, so that is always a good sign. They are going to try to reduce some of his medication to see how he can tolerate things by himself. Hopefully in a few days they will wean him off the ventalator to see if he can breath on his own. He is so beautiful and we are so greatful to Heavenly Father for giving us this baby boy. It is very hard to have to come home without him in our arms, but we understand that he needs to get stronger before he can come home. We still cant hold our baby, so when we visit him we just talk to him, and lightly touch his arm or head. He cant eat becuase of the tubes, so we are not able to feed him yet either. Many people have been asking why he came so early. My water just broke in the middle of the night around 3 am on the 19th. I was having small contractions, but could not feel them. They induced me, and I had him at 3:52 in the morning on the 20th. It is not known why my water broke so early, but I have faith that everything happens for a reason. He was 5 lbs, 18 inches long, so he is a good size. We ask that you all please continue to keep little Wesley in your prayers so he can overcome this trial, and can become strong enough to breath and eat on his own. Thank you so much. We have faith that he will get stronger, and will be in our arms soon. :)

ps....thank to all those that were going to come to the baby shower. It will probably be postponed for a few more weeks, and we will rescedule it for a saturday in April. We will send out another e-mail and make phone calls to let everone know.

I am praying with you April.

Madison spent a long time in the hospital as well. It was very hard on Anthony and Ashleigh and we all had to take turns spending the night with her at the hospital. We had to get up the next day and go to work. It was tough.

She has been home for 4 days and is doing much better. I sent Sheryl a picture of her when she was hospitalized. It was a very sad time for her mommy. We were finally able to hold her during her last week in the hosptial. She was so tiny to have to endure so much.

I am praying for you, Jason and your PRECIOUS Wesley. :(
