I had my first real prenatal appointment today, and they did the first ultrasound. The baby measures out to be about 1.22 cm (about the size of a big blueberry) and is estimated to be seven weeks and three days old. The due date was moved from April 23rd to May 3rd. When the midwife first started looking, the screen was all dark gray. She was very quiet, and kept moving the wand around, but the screen remained blank. I was a little worried and I asked her, "Is anything there?" And she said, "hymm..I don't see anything." I was getting ready to have to tell family and friends, "um...just kidding..." when she finally said, "OH, there is it!!!" I was very relieved. She first saw the little heart. I couldn't really see the heart beating, but she said it was nice and strong. She also said she saw the baby moving, and apparently that is uncommon for a seven week old embryo. Jason took the day off again, and was able to be there to see the baby. He has been so supportive of me, and tries to get me what ever I need/want. He makes dinner for me all the time, which I really appreciate. He is so excited to be a daddy!
Everything else is going well. I thought I was going to avoid morning sickness, but last week I started feeling a little nauseated. I have not "up-chucked" yet *knock on wood* so hopefully it wont get too bad. I can't complain though...things are going pretty well. I still know that it is early, and I am anxiously awaiting the 12 week mark .

So, the big bump on the left is the yolk sack (which goes away around week 12). Right under that is the head, and you can see the two little legs at the right of the body. I think the baby is facing us. You can't really see details because it is still so little, but I still think it is so neat that we have the technology to be able to see the development of babies inside the womb. It is comforting to know that there really is something inside of me!

How exciting!!! You're lucky you're not too sick yet- hopefully you wont 'up chuck' at all. :) Once you start showing you have to post pictures of your belly!!!!!
I agree, so exciting. I hated those first 12 weeks. It was scary yet exciting. We lost the first baby around 8 weeks, so I was super nervous when I was pregnant with Brock. The count down begins!
