Random facts about me

Ginger posted a fun blog about ten random/quirky facts about herself. I though I would steal the idea. So, bellow are ten random things you may not know about me.

1. I used to be able to jump rope and pogo stick at the same time. I also could pogo on one leg. I saw it done on tv once, and so I wanted to try it too. I loved that pogo stick!

2. One summer I was so board that I practiced writing with my left hand so I could become ambidextrous. Unlike pogo sticking, I never really mastered this skill.

3. Once I actually counted how many licks it took to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop. (And can you believe I don't remember the number!!! Hopefully I have it written down somewhere!)

4. When I was first learning how to drive (Jason actually taught me) I went up over the curb in front of our house, hit a Christmas tree, and popped a tire. Does anyone wonder why Jason does most of the driving now? :)

5. I have an enormous Barbie collection. I never considered my self to be a girly girl. I liked to be rough and tough, but for some reason I loved Barbies. I had a million, but they were kept in pristine condition. I never wanted to play barbies with any one else becuase I didn't want them to get ruined. I was, and am, a little OCD. They all had names, their own husband, and kids. I never got them mixed up either. I sill go down the Barbie aisle every time we go to Target!

6. When I was in high school, my dream and goal was to go to college. Sure, I eventually wanted to get married and have kids, but I really wanted a degree. I loved learning, and I wanted nothing more than to get a bachelors degree. I always pictured myself as some kind of scientist, trying to make the world a better place. I am soooo excited that my dream is about to be fulfilled in five months!!! YAY!!!!

7. Someday, I want to travel to Antarctica. I mean, how awesome would it be to go and visit the penguins??? Its not one of those everyday travel destinations, but it sure would be fun!!!

8. I broke three bones before the age of ten. The first time I was only two. I fell off my little four wheel bike. Then, when I was ten, I ran into a brick wall on my roller blades. Only two weeks later (still in the cast) I broke my pinky while playing tether ball. My mom didn't believe me that I broke another bone, and took my pinky and wiggled it the "prove" it was not broken. Ouch. Ya, I still tease her about that to this day.

9. I am completely and utterly terrified of earthquakes. I really, really do not like them one bit. They are probably one of my biggest fears next to bad people, spiders, and roller coasters, oh ya....and the dark. Ok, ok, so I have a lot of fears, but my point is that I really do not like earthquakes. Even at night when Jason rolls over, I get all panicked and get ready to jolt under the door way. A few months ago there was a small one in the area. It was only about a 3.8, but man oh man. I was in tears and thought I was going to die. hymmm...why again do I live in California, and right next to numerous fault lines???

10. Jason was my first date, and first kiss. He was my high school sweetheart. It is kind of funny how everything works out in life. We went to homecoming together for my first school dance. I did not really know him, and it was only our second real date. I remember thinking about how all the apostles always tell stories about the first time they met their spouse, and how they just knew they were going to marry them. I always wondered if I would get that same inspiration when I met my future spouse. Well, at the dance, I looked at Jason, and actually thought, "maybe I will marry him someday!" lol
