Halloween really is the best time of the year. I just love it so much! Unfortunately, life does seems to get rather busy at this time, but its usually the fun kind of busy. Blake's dance class held a mini recital in the classroom to showcase what they had been learning. His preschool also had a little Halloween show complete with poems, songs, and a a dance. Wesley and Chase's Halloween parade was at the same time, but thankfully Jason was able to take a few minutes off of work to attend their parade while I went to Blake's performance.
We had some costume issues this year. Wesley picked out a really fun headless costume on Amazon. After wearing it a few times before Halloween (at Pumpkin nights and to his scout party), he quickly realized it was a very painful costume to wear and decided he couldn't wear it all day on Halloween. The night before Halloween we searched though our costume stash and thankfully we found one in his size that I had bought on clearance years ago. The OCD in me was happy to have everything ready and organized for the next morning....or so I thought. Chase was going to be a Halo solder guy and Blake was going to be Pikachu. The next morning I woke up the boys like normal and told them to get dressed and ready for school. Blake, being a four year old, informed me that he didn't want to be Pikachu anymore. I tried reasoning with him, I tried bribing him, and I quickly realized I wasn't going to change him mind. I ran around the house like a madman trying to find dress up clothing to put him in (thankfully we have a lot). The clothing was packed away due to the basement flood, and it took me a while to get all the pieces. I was so stressed and frustrated that morning, but everything ended up working out. He looked so cute, and no one knew he was wearing a haphazardly pieced together costume! Blake later decided he wanted to wear his Pikachu costume for trick or treating since it was such a warm costume. His best friend Addie was in town so she ate dinner with us (Mummy dogs), and went Trick or Treating. It was a really good night!
A Few days after Halloween we went to Cornbellies (one of our many favorite fall traditions). It wasn't too busy, the weather was perfect, and we had a really good time together! Blake even won a raffle prize!

As much as I love Halloween, I'm not a fan of carving pumpkins. The boys love it, so the tradition will live on. Wesley is often the most excited, and he even carved that tiny one all on his own.

I love decorating for Halloween. Next year will be even better!!
