Solar Eclipse and end of Summer

Even though I love the fun trips and adventures we get to go on during the Summer; some of my favorite things to do with my kids are the most simple.  Going to parks, taking walks around the neighborhood, and just enjoying nature make for some of the best childhood memories.

In 2017, the United States got to experience a total eclipse for the first time in many years.  Utah was at 90% totality and there was a lot of excitement in the air.  The older boys were in school, so Blake and I decided to go and experience the fun.  We headed over to Thanksgiving Point where they were having a solar eclipse party.  The line was ridiculous to get in, but I'm glad we stayed because it was a really memorable experience. They ran out of glasses for the members, but all of the employees had glasses they were letting people borrow.  They also had eclipse games, a telescope, and viewing cards.  I bought a bubble machine for Blake, and he was as happy as could be.  I know he won't remember this event, and he didn't even know what was going on, but I really enjoyed experiencing this with my little guy.  Its going to be hard when he is in school, and I will be left alone to have these adventures.  When all my boys were little I thought I was going to have little kids forever, but boy, they sure grow fast.
