Kid-isms

Wesley --

--Chase had been sick, and when he was starting to feel better Wesley said in one of his meal prayers, "Thank you for making our sweet Chase feel better!"

--Our cute hamster passed away, and that night Wesley said, "My mind has been washed with sadness!"

--Wesley loves to eat raviolis from Costco and they come with a topping packet to sprinkle on top.  We ran out of the seasoning packet, so one day after Wesley made some raviolis, I sprinkled on my own seasoning blend.  I asked him if it tasted ok and he said, "This tastes WAY better than normal sprinkles because you made this one with love!!!"

--Wesley got in the car after I pick him up from school and he said, "today my stomach hurt so bad it was almost like I had dysentery!"

--Wesley knows how to flatter me.  Almost every night I cook he will say, "MMMmmmm!!!  This food is amazing!  You are the best cook I know!!  This is so delicious!" He is such a good eater, and will try anything.  If he tries something he doesn't like he will say, "I don't really like this, but I'm sure glad I tried it!!"

--One day after Wesley took his three hour long SALTA test, I asked him where he wants to go eat as a treat for taking such a long test.  He thought for a minute and said, "I don't want to go to a restaurant - I want you to make me dinner!  You make the yummiest food because it is made with love!"

--My mom sent us some fudge and as Wesley was eating a piece he said, "Yum!!!  I can taste the love in it!!!"

--One night Jason was gone, and the boys kept getting out of bed.  I was tired and frustrated, and Wesley came down again (I was finally relaxing on the couch after a long day) and asked me to put him back to bed.  I was kind of grumpy towards him, and reluctantly took him back up stairs to put him to bed.  He looked at me, and in the sweetest voice said, "Mommy - are you having a bad day today?"  I stopped and realized he will soon be grown and won't want me to put him to bed, and I apologized and told him I was so sorry, and that I love him and appreciate him being so kind to me when I should have been kinder myself.  Sometimes, we learn so much from these little guys!

Blake --

--Blake goes to school one day a week for an hour though the district for speech.  Sometimes I like to bring him a little treat when I pick him up.  One day I bought a little pack of gum for him (his favorite treat).  I told him he had to wait until we got home to have one, so he excitedly held it tight in like it was gold. While driving he asked me, "Can I give some to my boys?"  I thought maybe he meant his stuffed animals so I asked him who his boys were.  He said, "My Wesley brother and Chase brother.  Can I share with my boys? I am going to give some to my boys."

--One night in the car every time Blake saw some Christmas lights he would say, "What the heck?! Where those Christmas lights come from?!"

--When he goes poo, he will yell, "Mommy, I go tortilla poo poo!"  Lol - I'm not even sure what that means?  Maybe he thinks it looks like a burrito?  TMI, I know!

--He has recently started saying, "Mommy - I sure love you!"

--After using the bathroom I told Blake to wash his hands.  To prove to me they were clean he ran up and said, "but smell them Mommy!  They clean!"

--Sometimes when he is hungry or thirsty he will say, "My baby tummy needs some water!" or "I need to put food in my little baby tummy!"

--He was trying to put on his shoes and he started crying.  "I can't do it.  My baby muscles are too little! You have big Mommy muscles.  I have little baby muscles."

Chase -

--Chase is so sweet and sensitive.  I've always felt like he had an old soul, even when he was a small baby.  He's always acted a little more mature than other kids.  He still has a very silly and crazy side, but at school or church he is so well behaved.  He notices and takes to heart things other kids might not.  One day he said, "Mommy - today I fell at school, and the teacher outside didn't even ask if I was ok.  She just told me not to run. That was not very nice that she didn't ask if I was ok."  He church teachers always tell me how sweet and reverent he is, and they think he is so sweet to pray for the "girl who got eaten by the crocodile" almost every Sunday.

--One night I walked by Chase's room and I could him him talking to himself.  I listened through the door, and I realized he was saying a prayer.  I didn't hear everything, but I did hear him bless all the people to get jobs who needed too.  Sweet boy :-)

--Chase's kindergarten class built a leprechaun trap.  The days before he was so excited to see if their trap worked, and to see what the leprechaun was going to bring.  As excited as he was, he also seemed a little worried.  He told me, "I hope the leprechaun doesn't hurt our school or classroom.  I love school and I will be sad if he messes up the school!"

Old one (probably 5 years old) I found on facebook that popped up on my memories, and I don't think I ever wrote it in my blog:

- I just spent 3+ hours working on a cute shutterfly book for Chase, and the internet crashed and it is gone. 3 hours spent while trying to distract two kids is not easy. :-( :-( ---edited to add...I told Wesley that I was sad and he said, "Don't worry, I will give you something better....here is a present!" He then hands me one of his toys, "you feel happy now!" Sometimes, kids have all the right things to say!
