---Wesley got Student of the Month in March. This was a big deal for him. He is an extremely smart kid, but he does have a hard time sitting still and paying attention. When the principal called his name, his mouth hung WIDE open and he got the biggest smile!
We bought Blake a new "big boy bed" and gave his crib to my best friend who recently had her first baby. Blake calls this his "ni ni (night night) choo choo bed." When he is tired he rubs his little eyes and says, "ni ni choo choo bed." Its so cute! He still wakes up super, super early. He averages around 6:30, but a few times a week he wakes up any time between 5 and 6. If this kid ever sleeps past 7, I'm usually wide awake in my bed wondering when he is going to start crying, or, I'm wondering if he is still alive.
I took Wesley on a special ice cream date for his Birthday. I get to spend a lot of time with Chase, but since Wesley is always in school, I don't get too much time with just him and I.
Chase's school has really cute themes each week. Once in a while they send me pictures of his class which I love. One week his school had a cowboy week and the kids got to dress up (sadly Chase didn't get his awesome cow boy costume until a few weeks later for his birthday).
Poor Chase has been having a hard time with his hearing. He gets really bad ear wax build up, and it often impacts his ear drum. When he was three he had to get some ear wax removed, and just recently he had to have the procedure done again. Normally, kids have to be put to sleep for this, but Chase is amazing. Just like when he was three, he can hold so perfectly still they are able to do the procedure without giving him anesthesia. I feel so bad to watch him in pain though. During the procedure, I held his hand, and he looked at me with tears running down his face telling me it hurt, all while not moving a muscle. It broke my heart, but now he can hear much better. The doctor was absolutely amazed with how good he did. After, I took him to the store and let him pick out a hot wheel car and he was so proud of himself for being so brave. He would say, "Mommy - I was so brave, huh? Did I do a good job Mommy?" He is such a sweet little guy.
For circus week at school, Chase got to get his face painted, make a lion mask, and see a real magician. I want to go to preschool! :-)
Once in a while I will take Blake on a walk when the older boys are in school . He used to be content sitting in the stroller, but now he wants to walk himself. "I-a walk" he will say. A ten minute walk will now take forty minutes, but its fun to watch toddlers explore their world. Everything is new and exciting. In just a few years, he won't be filled with the same level of wonder, so I need to try to embrace this stage before it is gone.
We have more rooms than we know what to do with, so we recently moved all our train toys into a spare bedroom in the basement. Chase and Blake love having a "train" room.
I took the boys to the Thanksgiving point Ice cream parlor one evening. I bought them all ice cream cones, but once those were gobbled up, they all dug into my banana split.
If I don't watch Blake carefully, he always seems to get into something. I found him hiding behind the chair one evening eating an entire bag (little bag) of chocolates Jason bought me for our anniversary.
Blake loves candy, but he is a very picky eater. I could always get my other two to eat dinner, but Blake is much pickier. It is hard, and frustrating, but I have hope that he will outgrow this stage.
Jason took the boys to the airplane and train museum one Saturday while I took a nap.
