Life over the past few months

One of my favorite things over the past few months has been "Chase and Mommy time."  When it was still warm, after Chase came home from school, I put Blake to sleep, and Chase and I went outside to eat our lunch.  We can't do that now since it is freezing, but we still try to spend time inside.  I also like to treat him to a kids meal from a local restaurant here and there. He gets so excited when I pick him up and he sees me holding a bag of food just for him. He is such a sweet boy.  He tells me numerous times a day how much he loves me.  He loves just sitting in my lap and cuddling.  I am going to be really sad when he starts Kindergarten.  It is hitting me hard realizing how fast life is going.  Just a year or two ago, I was overwhelmed with three tiny kids thinking this stage would NEVER end.  Now, I'm overwhelmed with three little (but not as tiny) kids, trying to appreciate every fleeting moment.  I often feel I'm not doing a good enough job, but blogging helps preserve these moments for me.

Sweet Blake wanting to carry a school bag in the car so he can be a big boy like his brothers

Wesley's school is about a mile and a half (ish) away form our house.  We live in a hilly area though, so its a lot harder than walking a flat road.  A few times we decided to leave a little early and walk Wesley to school.  I LOVE being outside (in case you didn't already know), and I love walking in the mornings.  It is hard because Chase doesn't like walking far (so I end up pushing two kids in the double stroller), and Blake needs lots of snacks and other things to keep him entertained, so I often just end up driving to avoid the meltdowns.  When I do get out though, (and when everything goes smoothly), it makes me happy.

There is a hike a few miles away that takes us to a farm with a ZEBRA!!  It is a very easy walk, and the boys like to ride their bikes along the path to visit (and feed hay to) the Zebra.

I love seeing the cute things Chase brings home from preschool.  They have different themed weeks, and one was safety week.  They got to see a police car, and talk with police and make hats.  They have had many other cute days as well.  I love Chase's age.  It is such a sweet, innocent, and fun age.

I LOVE getting out of the house, and I love exploring new things.  I found a cute, unique park about 20 min away form our house, so we went and spent the morning there a few months back.  It was AMAZING.  The boys had an absolute blast.   Blake was hard because he kept wandering, and I had to crawl through all the tunnels to chase him, but when it warms up again, we will have to go play there again.

I have always taken warm weather for granted. However, since it is only warm in Utah about 6 or 7 months out of the year, I tried to make the most out of it.  I wanted to soak up as much sun as I could get.  Picnics on the lawn are always a fun, and easy activity.

We went to the Utah State Fair.  It was, uh, ok.  It was not the LA county fair (which is the best fair in the USA probably).  The boys had fun, but its not something I would necessarily want to go back to, unless I had free tickets or something.  The did have a cute circus there, and also a fun farm activity where the boys had to walk though a farm maze, and complete different challenges.  They had to feed the "animals," plant seeds, harvest the "crops," collect eggs, and ride tractors.  At the end they got paid for their hard work, and got to buy an item at the country store at the end.  Wesley and Blake chose Milk, and Chase picked some cookies.  It was actually really cute, and the boys still talk about how fun it was to buy an item all by themselves.

Another thing we have been doing A LOT, is visiting Thanksgiving Point.  We bought a membership there, and the boys really enjoy going.  There are four museums to visit, and it keeps the boys plenty busy.

We live only a minute away from the Temple, and I took the boys for Family Night a few months ago.  They were filming a church movie, and told us we were being too loud.  I walked around to the back, opposite where the film crew was,  and let the boys play anyways, lol.  It kind of ruined the fun having to keep them quiet, but it was a nice night to spend walking around the temple.

I love baking (I don't like cooking).  I made some pumpkin whoopie pies.  They were amazing.  I found it odd that not many of my neighbors knew what a whoopie pie was!

We were invited to a preschool field trip by a lady in my ward, and we went to a farm to see how apple cider was made.  The kids took a tour, and got to pick their own apples.  I also let them pick out their own little pumpkin.

Wesley's school had a fun run to raise money for the PTA.  Since I have Chase and Blake at home, I don't get to help in Wesley's class very often. This was an easy activity to bring the little boys too, and I was happy to be able to support Wesley.  I am NOT a runner, so I walked, and made poor Wesley lag behind from his class.  It was fun walking around the neighborhoods though, and watching the kids excitement.  After the kids returned back to school. there was a DJ playing music, and popsicles were handed out.
