My Wesley dear

My dear Wesley.... why are you so stinking cute?  Seriously...you were put on this earth to accomplish big things in life.  I'm still not sure if you will be a scientist (always experimenting), musician (always humming a song), philosopher (always questioning), fireman (what you told me you are going to be), or all of them?  Or none of them :-)  Your smile brightens up a room, and your silly laugh makes everyone want to giggle.  Your constant questions make me think more about our world, and your excitement for life makes me want to enjoy the small wonders.  You are my sweet, sweet boy and I am so glad you are my son!  Life is so much richer, and so much happier with you in it!!  I love you sweet Wesley!!  Love, Mommy

Wesley-isms:

-My neighbors were playing some music at a party next door.  W: "Papa...what kind of music is that?" (He asks me that question any time a new song on the radio plays, and he asks me what all the instruments are.  He is pretty good at picking out the piano, and violin. ) My Dad in his best gringo accent, " it is Mariachi music!"  Wesley, "Mary had an ouchie music?!"

-Wesley, "Ouch!! My back really, really hurts!!"  me: "what is wrong?"  w: "I think it is a virus!!"

-Jason's aunt took Wesley out for half of the day just to spend time with him.  She took him to Toys R Us just because she is sweet and likes to spoil the kids.  She told him he could pick out any toy he wanted.  He told her, "No, I can't.  Mommy says I need to go poo poo on the toilet."  Jason's aunt said "no!!! nto right now!! You can get anything you want!!!!!!"  W; "no thank you, its ok... "   After she told me this, I was really touched that Wesley remembered me telling him that when he goes poo poo on the toilet I will take him to Toys r us to get a toy.  He listened and wanted to obey Mommy.  I never told him he couldn't get a toy until he goes, I was just trying to give him a reward if he does go.  This opened my eyes, and  I am not going to push him anymore.  Obviously, going in his diaper/pull up is more important for what ever reason than getting a toy (or any reward I have tried to offer him) because he clearly understands.  For what ever reason, he needs to use the pull up either for comfort or because he is scared, or just isn't ready.  It was an eye opener on how much he understands, and how sweet my little guy is.  She of course got him a toy anyways :-)

-A man came up to the door dropping off bags for used item collection while we were playing outside.  Wesley approached him and said, "who are you!?"  The man: "I am a stranger!  Why are you talking to me!" (in a joking voice).  Wesley looked at me with big eyes, "he is a stranger!"  The guy kept talking to us about random things and left to go to the next house.  W: "Where is his car?"  It was cute, and just another example of how his little mind is constantly working and questioning everything.

-While watching Sponge Bob, a bad guy was chasing him.  Wesley started crying, "No Mommy!!  I dont want the stranger to get Sponge Bob!!!"  Tears were coming down his face.  He gets sooo involved in these shows, I have to be careful what he watches because he remembers everything, and it affects him.

-I had a little boil on my arm and while at my Mom's house, she put some salve (thick tar like medicine) on it.  Wesley was watching, and was very concerned about me.  While rubbing my knee he says, "what is that medicine you are putting on my Mommy?  That is too yucky for my Mommy!" He was so worried about me!

When I say "chocolate" I say pronounce it like they do in spanish - chalk-a-latte.  Now, When Wesley says it, he also says it is Spanish.  It makes me laugh if we are at church, or the store and he says, "I want a 'chalk-a-latte' cookie.

So, remember how I was trying to recreate the hair style I saw on a little red-headed model in a magazine add?   This was the best I was able to do, and we went in our front yard and I spent like 5 minutes (because that is all Wesley will give me before running off) doing a little mini photo shoot.  He is so good, and gives me such awesome smiles.  He is just like me when it comes to being silly, and I always get a few silly faces when I take his picture too.  Three of these are edited, but the rest are just straight out of my camera.

This is my "Wesley has stinky feet!" attempt to get him to smile
