June happenings, and lots of pictures

Jason's Grandma really wanted to do something special for the kids, so she bought tickets to go see Sesame Street Live (the nice seats up front!).  Wesley, and his two cousins went along with Grandma, Jennifer, and myself.  She also bought all the kids matching shirts, and an Elmo toy at the concert.  It was a cute event, and all the kids had a lot of fun.  I mean...come on....what is better than seeing all the Sesame street characters in real life?!  Before the show, they had a little play zone set up with cut outs of the characters.   There were a lot of people though, and we kind of had to zoom through.

He was so excited to go!!

I wanted to stop and take a picture with each character, but Wesley just wanted to play, and was a stinker about taking pictures. Plus, there was a long line of kids waiting to play/take pictures too, so we had to rush by each one.

My boys love playing outside.  Wesley could play out there almost all day.  However, it is pretty much guaranteed that if they go outside, they will come back filthy.  After I fill up the water table, Wesley likes to get the sand from his sand box and dump it in the water.  Chase then likes to try to take a bath in it.  Oh the joys of childhood!!  :-)

Jason took Wesley and his nephew Owen to a father/son overnight-er.  Wesley was really looking forward to camping with Daddy, and I got this cute picture before they left.

I saw this cute red-headed boy in  a magazine add.   He had long-ish spiky hair, and looked so cute.  I was trying to grow Wesley's hair out to look like the picture, but when I tried to spike it like the boy in the add, it just looked like he got electrocuted.   I'm sure i am using the wrong products in his hair, but I've never been a good hair stylist.  Anyways, I ended up cutting his hair again, so it is nice and short for the summer, but here is a cute picture of my pre-cut crazy hair boy :-)

We were invited by a friend in our ward to go Bowling with her family.  Wesley had never been, and I dont know that he even knew what bowling was, but he was excited to go!   He had a hard time picking up the ball, so I had to help him so he wouldn't drop it on his toes.  He didn't really get the point..he just liked rolling the ball down the kid ramp.   90% of the time he wouldn't even watch the ball go down the lane.  He even rolled the ball down the lane next to us...opps!  He had fun though, and it is always nice to try new things.

By the end when he figured out he needed to hit the pins, he started laying down to watch his ball roll down the lane

Wesley is a great napper...when I can get him to take a nap.  Recently he has been harder to get to fall asleep.  Sometimes I lay with him on the couch, and when he falls asleep I will move him to his bed.  Sometimes, he is so quiet, I assume he is sleeping until I open the door...

Chase is starting to watch everything I do, and will try to copy it.  He watched me clip my toe nails, and he took the clipper and tried to clip his own nails.  I wish!!!

My mom gave Wesley some "treasure" (just cheep gems from joanns, or Michales). We used to have some , but I threw most of it away when Chase was first mobile for fear of him chocking.  Wesley loves treasure (like he loves collections).  We put it in an old baby food container, and it has occupied his time for days.  He asks for it when he wakes up, and wants to carry it all over. Who would have thought such a simple thing would create such joy in a three year old!

We played in the sprinklers the other day to try to cool off from the Summer heat.  Wesley ran all over the grass, but Chase was content standing by the sprinkler head, and just wanted to play with the drips.  He seriously loved the little spray trickling out.

Wesley didn't mind getting all wet!
Chase is a "binky baby."  He loves the pacifier, and I have to make sure I have it everywhere we go.  He takes it out to eat, and pops that thing right back in after he is done.  Wesley never used one after he was a few months old, but Chase sure does love that thing!!  I dont mind..it keeps him calm, and it makes for a cute accessory :-p
