Little joys of life

SO, I am sick...again.  I have really bad allergies all the time, but they have been worse while being pregnant.  Plus, being pregnant makes one's immune system lower, so I have been getting a lot of colds too.  Seriosuly... I am soooo sick of being sick.  Blahhhh!!!  Anyways, Wesley is taking a nap, and I can't really sleep while being all stuffed up, so I figure now is a good time to blog a little.  I have a lot of pictures to post!!!

One of my best friends, Rebecca Thorpe (Kramer) was visiting from Utah.  I have known her since jr high school where we were cheerleaders together.  We grew up in the same ward, and have been "bosom buddies" for many years.  We have had many, many slumber parties, and many silly double dates together.  We have had so many good memories.  We were room mates at BYU, and have stayed good friends even though we live in two different states now.  She is the kind of friend that I can go years without seeing her, but the moment we get together again, it is like no time has passed at all. It is fun because she is pregnant too, and our due dates are only days apart. I was excited to get to see her again, and since we both have toddlers, we decided to meet up at a children's play center recommended to me by another friend.  It is a fun little center made for children 6 months to 6 years.  We stayed until Wesley got cranky, and then we ate out and laughed until our big bellies hurt like the good 'ol days.

fun little race cars

His look of excitement is worth a thousand words

his favorite part....all the "BIG Balls!!!"

We also set up our tree after Thanksgiving.  I was so excited because we bought tons of decorations, including our tree, during the after Christmas sales last year.  Most of the stuff I forgot I bought, so it was a fun surprise to open all the boxes up! Jason was so sweet and put lights on our house this year for me. Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to put up lights on my own house. Also, Wesley LOVED the tree.  Maybe too much, lol.  He has to touch every light, and when ever I let him go in the front room, he runs to the tree and pulls on all the ornaments (hence having the tree in the front room instead of the family room!).

"daddy...what are you doing?"

"here Daddy...I'll help you out!"

I love his expression of excitement

Another priceless look of awe

And lastly...just some random pics of me with my sweet buddy

My little handsome guy

Cute cute pictures!!! Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your question on my blog... things have been rather crazy. The transition to a regular bed for Elijah really ended up not being that big of a deal. The first few days he would get in and out periodically, but we just told him that we expected him to stay in his bed. It helps that he is pretty obedient by nature. The other thing that was good is that he only recently started opening doors, so I just made sure his room was kid-proof and then figured that as long as he was in his room it would be okay, and he quickly realized that sleeping in his bed was pretty fun. (Now that he opens doors he still sleeps great but as soon as he is halfway awake he comes out to find us, so we might get a child-lock on the door) We love being able to lay in the bed next to him to read him books, and I think since we just set the expectation that he was to stay in his bed to go to sleep it hasn't been that hard. Granted, periodically we'll hear him get out and bang the walls with his legs or something but we just leave him in there for a bit and then if he is really unhappy we'll go back in and point to his bed and make sure he's okay. I don't know if that makes any sense, feel free to let me know if you have any other questions, but I bet that your darling little Wesley would do just fine. You can email me any questions at chelseabeauchamp at gmail dot com.

You said that we laughed until our big bellies hurt... just like the good ol' days. The only difference is that back then we did not have "big" bellies! He he he!
