Last fourth of July
We had a nice fourth...we went to the Claremont colleges to see the fireworks. I have been going there since I was a wee one, and now I am taking my very own little wee one. It is kind of crazy to think about. Wesley is in the "I dont want to sit still, and I want to run around everywhere" stage. He had fun running around (as fast as his little wobbly legs can carry him) all over the grass field. Jason and I took turns chasing him. He went up to this little elderly lady who was on oxygen. He was so sweet, and just stood there and talked to her. She was so excited to talk with this little baby. He just stood there for a long time, and they touched hands, and talked about her colorful blanket. He would babel and tell her all about life, and she would smile. It was a very sweet moment. Children have no prejudice... they dont see skin color, or wrinkles, or oxygen tanks. They just see human beings in need of a little love. We were joking that he was so drawn to her because she was on oxygen just like he was, lol. He loved the fireworks, and would point at them and say "light" and other babble words. Last year he was only a few months old, and slept through them in his carrier. It is fun now that he is older, and can enjoy the world more :-)
