6 months!

Some pictures I took....








Wow...seriously....time moves WAY too fast!!! I dont know how it happened, but Wesley turns 6 months tomorrow!!! He had his check up, and weighs a whopping 17.8 lbs. This puts him in the 50th percentile. If he was born on time, he would be in the 75th percentile or so. He was 25.5 inches, which is the 25th percentile. He is doing absolutely wonderfully! We visited the NICU after his appointment, and had such a wonderful time. It was so fun to see everyone again! As I walked into the front little room where we had to wash our hands and put on a gown, the smell overwhelmed me. Hundreds of memories just flooded my mind. I can't even possibly explain in words how I felt. I remembered the very first time I walked in to see my little baby. He was so small...so helpless. He had just been hooked up to a ventilator, so there was a big tube down his throat. He tried to cry from all the pain, but no sound came out. I couldn't hold him to comfort him, or even really touch him. All I could do was allow him to hold my finger with his tiny hand. It was so hard. I also remember the day we got to bring him home, and leave those doors. There were so many memories. The NICU doctor that was in the delivery room, and cleaned him after he was born greeted us as we walked in yesterday. She picked Wesley up and hugged him, and kissed him. Our two favorite nurses were also there and were thrilled to see him. He is sooo chunky and big, and they couldn't believe his is only 6 months. Surprisingly, being there really only brought back happy memories. It is where my babies life was saved!


Just to see how much he has grown....the first picture is the easter hat he wore in the NICU. The next picture is him wearing the same hat last month (so he probably has grown since then!) I could barely get the hat on him, it was so tight! The last picture is his preemie onesie that he wore in the hospital. These pics were taken last month, so he grew that much in 5 months! Crazy!
